This thing works perfectly. I really like that it has its on dedicated port on the back and not having to rely on the very few usb ports of the PS4. Now, listen carefully lol . It comes with a mount out of the box, unlike the ps3 eye camera. Buying a mount could be unnecessary. The other thing is that it works better if put at the bottom , instead of the top of the TV. The mics cover the entire leaving room, ing your voice won't be a problem . I have an accent , yet it understands me well. So far, I have used it mostly for The Play Room. It works like a charm. Like I said ,It has a few commands for the PS4 but so far can't be used to turn it on. More commands are coming on 10/28/14.

    PS4 Camera is pretty cool to use for AR and VR games, without issues. It is required for those games and features obviously. Does well with the facial recognition console unlocking, if you choose to use that feature.

    I am putting this in the beginning of the review so people notice it: On online games, you can NOT turn off the microphone to this camera. Every sound in your bedroom/living room will be broadcast to all the others you game with online. I do not know why Sony does not allow you to turn this feature off, and I expect it to very quickly be updated by the end of the year or whenever the next firmware update is released, as it appears to just be a small oversight rushing the launch firmware to market. However, that isn't to say there is no hope! You just have to create a party chat with only yourself in the chat, and it will shut off the microphone to people outside the party in the game. Or you can unplug the camera every time you want to play. Your choice. Now on to the actual product review...

    To be as short as possible, this camera does what it is supposed to do very well! It has great picture and can be a very fun addition to your PlayStation 4! Don't trick yourself into thinking you are going to have hours of entertainment value, though, because there just isn't a ton of for it so early in the console lifecycle. With that said, we all know you like showing off your PS4 to family/friends and using this on the built in game "The Playroom" is almost worth springing for the extra amount. Many people are also using the Playroom on the "Live from Playstation" live streaming feature and creating oddly entertaining web shows. The voice commands are responsive also, but limited. You can also with the camera through facial recognition which is pretty nifty, but ittedly it's actually slower then manually selecting your profile on the screen.

    Overall I would recommend this camera if you are interested in buying it. It is a very good product and a lot of fun. That is why I am giving it 5 stars, because the camera itself does everything you want from it. If you aren't sure you have the money for it right now though, I would wait until you do. It isn't compelling enough to call it a "must-buy".

    It's a good camera, it's not the highest quality in the world but it works just fine and i have had no problems with it. I can't really give an in depth review because currently their is not much you can do with the PlayStation's camera besides the playroom game and my personal favorite, using it with twitch while streaming gameplay. It has a built in mic that's on during multiplayer which is a plus cause I'm not a big fan of the mono earpiece that came with the console. When it comes down to it i would only recommend this product to someone that will be streaming a lot and want's his/her's viewers to see them, also if you have children the playroom game could be fun for them but once you have played with it for 10 minuets you have seen everything the game has to offer and it gets old quick. Oh yea i forgot to mention you can use voice commands on the dashboard to play a game, , shut your system down and a few other things but this is also possible with the headset. I'm hoping Sony integrates the camera a little more into their console so it can be used to control more of the systems options without making it a necessity, more games and a video chat like Skype would also be nice to.

    So that's that, when in use it's a lot of fun and i really enjoy using it but most of the time it just sits on top of my TV looking pretty. I can't wait for more apps, games and other things to come out that makes use of the camera. If you like streaming your gameplay i would pick this up asap but if your looking to play games with your kids or talk with your pals through video chat, it ain't happening, yet.

    I forgot to mention, if you play NBA 2K14 you can call out plays into the mic which is awesome but be careful with what you say. The way i found out about this feature was when i was loosing a game badly, the opposing team made a 3 pointer and i started screaming and cursing then all of a sudden i was charged with a technical foul. I was amazed and extremely angered by this at the same time. So if games tend to make you cus be careful while playing 2K14 otherwise you will pay for it.

    This is great I believe for people on the fence you should consider these factors that will enhance your PS4 experience.
    -No need for a mic in any multiplayer game
    -Can take screenshots at any time by saying "Playstation" Screenshot
    -Can start game, dvd, bluray by voice "Playstation" "Call of Duty" Start Etc.
    -Enhanced security as you can by your face recognition, great for convenience and for people trying to access your profile
    -Can turn system off by voice, go to homescreen, etc.
    -If you leave room with multiple people playing say call of duty, me and friend just did this, you leave and even if you switch controllers the PS Camera will your face and re-assign you to that controller with
    -The playroom free demo/game included on PS4 can be played with this add on and 2 new dlc are coming which will be free, and 2 more by Tim Schafer's company are developing
    -It seems that the already offered we will get much better camera than the old eye, and even if they dont I think for 60 bucks it really enhances your play experience for the life of your ps4. Now if they can just get the netflix voice stuff working that will be great, I really enjoyed that on xbox. But this will be better as it actually recognizes names like call of duty, resogun, etc. It seems a lot of people are buying so keep using it as sony tracks it use and will it as long as lots of people are using it.
